At Grindstone, we see
the whole as
greater than the
sum of its parts.

We think that when you add like-minded people and brands together, the possibilities are multiplied.

We call this the collaboration effect.

We believe collaboration is the intersection of capability, innovation, insight and creativity. Where ideas come together, problems are solved and unique value is added. It’s at this point that great things can happen. And all of this equals better brand experiences.

Origins

Grindstone emerged as a full service creative agency in 2000, as founders Jane and Andy Sefton looked to extend their copywriting and design studio into a digital and creative offering spanning concept development, strategy, design and digital.

In the sixteen years since, Grindstone has grown to become one of the most successful fully integrated creative agencies in regional Australia. Our clients span a diverse range of sectors including government, health, NGO and professional services at local, state and national levels.

The current Grindstone approach developed from a desire to provide a creative service offering that placed a value on ideas with meaning and through collaboration. This was a natural result of combining Jane’s experience in English language with Andy’s training in art and design.

Grindstone has played in the digital space since inception, having grown up parallel with the internet itself. An early adopter of Open Source CMS has allowed an expertise to develop in our studio that is core to our current web offering.

The studio is committed to giving back to community and NFP groups through the provision of pro-bono services to key partners.

With the original Grindstone founders still acting as the studio’s Directors, Grindstone keeps in touch with the values that allowed it to grow to what it is today.

Only do good– good work, for good causes, with good people.

People first– ideas with meaning designed to help real people.

Together is better– a collaborative approach equals better results for everyone.
